What is SEE?

Schools for Energy Efficiency (SEE) is a holistic, behavior-based program that involves entire school districts in being more energy efficient. Rather than giving one or two people a hundred things to do, we ask hundreds of people to do small things, every day, to make a huge difference.

How does it work?

MEEP will hire an Energy Efficiency Coordinator (EEC) to run the SEE Program in your district. This may be a retired teacher, part-time staff person, or even a "power parent." We'll provide the EEC with a systemized plan and lot of great outreach materials such as posters, stickers, and communication templates. We'll monitor your progress using a state-of-the-art utility tracking system and help you promote success throughout your district and community.

First Steps

Contact us to set up a meeting! The best people for us to talk to are the Superintendent, Business Manager, and Facilities Manager. We'll tell you about the program and give you an opportunity to have us speak to your School Board. Act fast - funding from Efficiency Maine has provided start-up costs for 15 schools. We already have two school districts. Will yours be next?
